UK Travel Ban Over New Virus

The recent travel bans on the UK has left the country with no other choice than to cope and compromise with the situation as several countries have banned flight landings from the UK one after another within 24 hours. After the disclosure of the rapidly spreading new variant of the coronavirus in the UK, countries have decided to put serious travel restrictions on both flights as well as through roads. The number of cases is increasing so fast that the situation may get out of hands if serious precautionary measures are not taken on time.

The Decision

Countries from not only Asia and the Middle East, but different European countries such as Switzerland, Turkey, and France have also put on travel restrictions after the number of cases grew in London and England. All flight landings are decided to be limited for only cargo. France locked its borders for 48 hours while the flights were completely restricted. If the situation prevails and the country continues to face this seclusion, there is a fear of food shortage in the country.

The Reaction

As soon as the decision was made, the country started getting notified about the travel restrictions from Canada, India, and then other countries one country after another. Soon after that, airports were flooded with troubled people waiting to meet their family members, and attend important business meetings. Not only that, but France also closed its borders all of a sudden due to which trucks backed up for miles blocking the roads. People were not only anxious but frustrated at the sudden dismissal of all the flights and road routes without any notice. However, Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson said that he understands the reasons for these measures and hope for a quick resumption of all the activities and the traffic flow between the two countries.

Asia

Different Asian countries including Hong Kong, Pakistan, India, and Sri-Lanka have put a travel restriction on UK flights. While Hong Kong has banned all flights from the UK, Pakistan has imposed a temporary ban. France is the first among the European countries to put restrictions on UK flights and cargo traffic.
